About the group
We are the Loughborough Quantum Systems Engineering (QSE) Research Group—a pioneering team dedicated to bridging quantum science and practical engineering. This group was founded by Dr Mark Everitt, who was a Senior Lecturer in Quantum Control and has now moved on to provide independent consultancy to the community. The group has strategically expanded since 2024, aiming to become one of the leading centres in QSE research.
Our mission is to establish and advance Quantum Systems Engineering as a distinct field, driving breakthroughs in technology and empowering industry to harness the power of quantum phenomena. Quantum mechanics has transformed our understanding of the universe—now it’s time to transform our technology.

We are passionate about collaboration and welcome partnerships with academics, industry, and students keen to explore the quantum frontier. Together, let’s innovate and shape the future of Quantum Systems Engineering
